McLaren: We’re working hard to narrow the gap

McLaren report from day one one of the Australian Grand Prix weekend, Round 1 of the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship, at Albert Park in Melbourne. Jenson Button – MP4-30-01 FP1 1:34.542s (+4.985s) 6 laps 14th FP2 1:31.387s (+3.690s) 21 laps 13th “We didn't get as much mileage as we’d have liked in today’s sessions, but the balance didn’t feel too bad. The lack of running in FP1 made it more difficult for us to get a good base set-up for FP2; you can’t set the car up around a single timed lap, so we didn’t have the momentum that we’d normally have going into FP2. Nevertheless, we improved the balance quite a bit through the afternoon.
