Manor will not race in Australia

The Manor Formula One team will not compete in the Australian Grand Prix after failing to run in qualifying. Although Manor made it in time for the season-opening event, its cars never took to the track as the team worked on, among other things, updating the software needed to control the complicated electronics. Neither Roberto Merhi or teammate Will Stevens completed any running, and the team will not attempt to get dispensation to race tomorrow in case it could get the cars ready. Team boss Graham Lowdon had said on Friday Manor will now push to be ready for the Malaysian Grand Prix in two weeks' time.
