Manor explains qualifying absence

Manor F1 were asked to report to stewards at 8pm on Saturday night to provide a written statement why the team did not partake in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix. Whilst no statement was at hand, a media session with team principal John Booth clarified that it was necessary to rebuild all of the car’s electronic systems. 'We knew that there was only a slim chance of making quali when we set off. They are incredibly complex things these modern F1 cars” said Booth. “We had three weeks to design and make the car legal to the 2015 FIA regulations. We actually had almost no time to fix the racks and electronics and get all those infrastructures built that are required.” Rather...
