Van der Garde statement 'surprised' Sauber
The Sauber F1 Team says it is 'surprised' by Giedo van der Garde's statement, following the settlement of their legal dispute. On Wednesday morning the Dutch driver confirmed his contract with Sauber had ended by mutual consent and a settlement had been reached with the team. Courts in Switzerland and Australia said he had the right to drive at the F1 2015 season opener in Australia, but he gave up his rights to do so, with talks over a mutually acceptable solution resuming after the race weekend.
