Alonso will undergo tests at Cambridge University

Fernando Alonso is yet to race competitively this season, It is known that the 33-year-old driver, who sat out the Melbourne season opener last weekend after his mysterious Barcelona testing crash a month ago.. The Spaniard will go to Cambridge University on Sunday for medical tests as part of a three-part progression that will decide whether he can return to F1 in next weekend’s Malaysian GP. The first is a medical test by the chief doctor at the Sepang Circuit. The second is the FIA's ‘impact test', which measures reaction times using a computer programme, and will be conducted by the chief medical officer, Jean-Charles Piette.
