Fernando Alonso cleared to race in Malaysia

Fernando Alonso will compete in the Malaysian Grand Prix after he was passed as fit to race by the FIA medical team at Sepang. Just over a month after he suffered a concussion and was briefly knocked unconscious in an accident at the Circuit de Catalunya during pre-season testing, Alonso has been working towards his return to action having missed the Australian Grand Prix season opener. Though he was expected to get the green light to race, the Spaniard's participation in the Malaysian Grand Prix remained in doubt until he was examined by the FIA Medical Delegate and Chief Medical Officer today [Thursday], with the medical team subsequently declaring itself satisfied with his condition....
