Merhi expects Manor to be allowed to race
Roberto Merhi is optimistic the Manor team will be allowed to take part in the Malaysian Grand Prix despite failing to qualify within the 107 percent. The Spaniard's best lap of 1:46.677 in Q1 means he was around four tenths of a second off the time needed to qualify for the race. Teammate Will Stevens could not run in qualifying due to a problem with the fuel system. Stevens is the only of the two Manor drivers who has run within the 107 percent time this weekend, with a best time of 1:45.704 in second practice.
