Ferrari and Pirelli back Monza to stay on F1 calendar

Automobile Club of Milan chief Ivan Capelli said he is hopeful his negotiations with Ecclestone set for Monaco next month will bear fruit, with regards to the future of the Italian Grand Prix at the legendary Monza circuit. 'I have already won the support of Pirelli in the talks with Bernie,' revealed Capelli, a former F1 driver. As for Ferrari, there have been suggestions the powerful Italian marque is not so supportive of Monza, as it would prefer to host the race itself at Mugello. But Capelli is adamant that this is not the case and said, 'I talked with [Maurizio] Arrivabene in Australia and he said that his table is clear. Maurizio is an honest person and I believe him.'
