Esteban Ocon gains Mercedes factory support
Reigning European Formula 3 Champion Esteban Ocon has been picked up by Mercedes, and will race under their umbrella for 2015. Ocon won last year's championship with Mercedes Benz power, comfortably beating the opposition with a total of 9 wins and 21 podiums. Under Lotus' wing, the young French driver completed an FP1 outing with the team at Abu Dhabi at the end of 2014, but didn't succeed in landing the third driver role, Jolyon Palmer being the beneficiary of same. Ocon's winter went largely under the radar as he and his management took time to decide on how best to proceed, and he will race in GP3 in 2015 for ART.
