Williams optimistic ahead of Monaco GP

Rob Smedley, head of performance engineering at Williams, says the Grove-based outfit is optimistic ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix and the remainder of the European leg of the season. Williams is currently third in the constructors' standings, with Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa finishing fourth and sixth at the last race in Spain. Despite feeling the FW37 will not be best suited to the Circuit de Monaco, Smedley says the team has high hopes for the weekend. 'We have come out of the Spanish Grand Prix in a positive position and continue the European leg of the season with a lot of optimism,' he said.
