Trulli claims surprise pole position – Qualifying Report

Jarno Trulli secured a surprise pole position for the Berlin ePrix ahead of Lucas di Grassi and Sebastien Buemi. Group 1: Nelson Piquet was the first man to set a time in the typically non-advantageous group one, posting a 1:24.557 as the field gradually turned it up to the maximum 200kW. The times soon tumbled and Piquet's first effort of a 1:22.417 was originally determined to be a solid benchmark for the rest of qualifying, but for a surprise lap from Jarno Trulli. The Italian set a mega lap of 1:21.547 to over eight tenths quicker.
