Mercedes storm to Canadian GP front row lockout

Six of the top seven positions were filled with Mercedes-powered cars during qualifying today. Lewis Hamilton took his 44th career Formula One pole this afternoon in Canada and his sixth from seven race weekends thus far in 2015. Nico took P2 to complete the 20th front row lockout of the modern Silver Arrows era. Both drivers completed one run in Q1 (prime), one in Q2 (option) and two in Q3 (option/option). Lewis' pole time of 1:14.393 was just under 0.5s faster than the 2014 pole of 1:14.874.
