New engines for Alonso, Button in Hungary
McLaren drivers Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button will have new Honda engines for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. Both Alonso and Button have already used their fifth engines of the season, but the FIA's World Motor Sport Council ratified a regulation change that means new engine manufacturers in F1 are given an extra power unit for use in their first year. Honda was thus granted a 'free' engine that will allow Alonso and Button to start the Hungaroring weekend with a fresh unit. Since it is the 'free' engine, no driver will be penalised for the change.
