Renault convinced it has podium performance now
Renault Sport Managing Director Cyril Abiteboul says he was pleased to see Renault-powered cars overtaking its Mercedes and Ferrari counterparts during the Belgian Grand Prix, saying it can now fight for podiums in terms of performance. Though the outcome of the race at Spa-Francorchamps would prove frustrating for the Red Bull and Toro Rosso engine supplier after technical issues ruled Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz out of the race, Danill Kvyat and Max Verstappen impressed en route to fourth and eighth. Indeed, having come in for strong criticism about the pace of its power unit in 2015, Abiteboul says Kvyat and Verstappen's charge up the order from 12th and 18th respectively shows it...
