Hamilton closing in on Senna's stats

Ahead of a weekend where Lewis Hamilton could emulate boyhood hero Ayrton Senna, the Brit admits it would be 'very emotional' if he managed to do so. This Saturday in Singapore Hamilton will chase his 12th pole position of the campaign and should he succeed it will be his eighth in succession. Only one other driver has ever managed eight in a row, Senna. The Brazilian achieved it in an impressive qualifying ran that began in 1988 and finished up in 1989. Added to that the Mercedes driver could secure his 41st F1 victory this Sunday. That would tie him with Senna and, coincidentally, both drivers would have done it in 161 grand prix starts.
