Pirelli going soft for Russia

Russian Grand Prix – Pirelli are bringing their Supersoft & Soft compound tyres to Sochi for this year's event. Last year at the inaugural event in Russia, Pirelli went deliberately conservative with their tyre choices by bringing the Soft & Mediums. This was due to having no real track data to base a more aggressive tyre choice on. As a result, almost the whole field managed to complete the 2014 race with just one stop. Nico Rosberg, who damaged his front right tyre with a lockup on Lap 1, made a pitstop at the end of the first lap and then finished the 53 lap race without making another stop.
