Sainz suffers heavy crash in Russia
Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz has suffered a heavy crash during final practice at the Russian Grand Prix. The Spaniard's car was buried deep into the barriers after he lost control at Turn 13 at the end of a long straight. Medical crews are in attendance, but there was no immediate information on the driver's condition. The session has been brought to a halt and will not re-start. It was not immediately clear what happened to cause the crash. Several Tyre marks were visible along the concrete barrier on the outside of the track but there was no immediate evidence of locked brakes. More to follow
