Sainz in hospital after crash

Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz has been taken to the medical centre at the Russian GP after suffering a big crash in final practice. The Spanish driver was involved in a head-on collision with the barriers at Turn 13, with his car burying itself in the Tecpro barriers, which are designed to take the force of an accident. The FIA, the sport's governing body, has confirmed Sainz was conscious after his accident, with TV pictures showing the 21-year-old giving the thumbs-up as he was stretchered away from the scene of an accident.
