Mercedes secures championship after Raikkonen penalty

Mercedes has taken the 2015 constructors' championship after a penalty was given to Kimi Raikkonen for causing a collision with Valtteri Bottas. The Brackley-based outfit needed to out-score Ferrari by three points at the Russian Grand Prix, but did not do so in the provisional race result. Lewis Hamilton won the race at the Sochi Autodrom but Nico Rosberg retired early on with a throttle problem. Raikkonen and Bottas made contact on the final lap, with the former limping to the finish in fifth and the Williams retiring. However, following an investigation, the stewards found Raikkonen to be at fault for the collision and handed him a 30-second time penalty, which drops him to eighth. The...
