Magnussen will have successful career – Boullier

Kevin Magnussen will have a successful career despite not securing a McLaren seat for the 2016 season, according to the team's racing director Eric Boullier. The Danish driver raced for McLaren in 2014, after being promoted from its young driver programme. He scored 55 points and one podium. However, he was demoted to the Woking-based outfit's test and reserve driver as Fernando Alonso returned to partner Jenson Button. Recently McLaren confirmed that Magnussen had not been kept on at the team for next year, with the 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 champion later revealing he was told by email on his birthday.
