Webber/Hartley/Bernhard claim WEC crown

– Ex-Formula 1 driver Mark Webber claimed his first leading-class title during a tense World Endurance Championship finale at the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain.Webber, along with team-mates Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard, only needed to finish fourth but were slowed by a series of technical problems in their #17 Porsche 919 Hybrid.The trio's title cause was aided by the race-winning performance of the sister car, the #18, piloted by Neel Jani, Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas.The #7 Audi crew of Benoît Tréluyer, André Lotterer and Marcel Fässler required victory to stand a chance of the title, but they were denied by the #18 car.That meant fifth for the wounded #17 was sufficient to...
