Ecclestone: US Grand Prix will go ahead

– Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has made clear that the 2016 United States Grand Prix will take place as planned, despite its provisional status on the latest calendar.Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, last week published a revised 21-race roster for the 2016 campaign, marking the Circuit of the Americas event with an asterisk.It is now "subject to agreement with the promoter and the ASN [National Sporting Association]", after the Texas state government opted to slash the subsidy it pays the track.COTA received $25 million payments from the state in 2012, 2013 and 2014, but this figure has dropped by around 20 per cent for this year's race, to around $19.5...
