Monza inches closer to new F1 deal

– The future of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza is close to being secured for a further seven years, according to the President of the Automobile Club of Italy.Monza's position on the Formula 1 calendar has been under threat but a recent amendment in Italian law means the ACI can take on funding responsibilities for the event, alongside the Automobile Club of Milan.The tweak acted as a substantial boost and Angelo Damiani says the circuit is very close to signing a new deal with Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone."The Autodromo di Monza has had difficult times, but the worst is over and now we are close to signing with Ecclestone to have Formula 1 in Brianza for another seven...
