Vettel's fastest time set on the intermediate tyre

Paul Ricard – Sebastian Vettel's fastest time was set on the intermediate tyre, with the German driver the only man to run the different Pirelli compound. Vettel's time, a 1:06.750, was set on a set of intermediate tyres. This was despite the two day test being billed as a wet weather tyre compound test only. With Pirelli choosing to run a program that saw the track drying up towards the end of Tuesday, Vettel was sent out on track with a set of intermediate tyres on and he promptly fired in the fastest lap.
