Maldonado confirms he won't be on the grid in 2016

Pastor Maldonado has confirmed that he will not be on the Formula 1 grid in 2016, following the collapse of his deal with Renault. Following problems with long-time backers PDVSA which was late with payments, Renault has terminated Maldonado's contract and instead pursued a deal with Kevin Magnussen for 2016. An agreement with Magnussen has been sorted, as Motorsport.com reported at the weekend, with the final contractual issues set to be tidied up prior to an official team announcement on Wednesday.
