Positive outcome from meeting of F1 big names and stakeholders
A landmark Pirelli hosted meeting starring the biggest names in Formula 1 took place in Milan on Tuesday, with reports that the parties have agreed to increased tyre testing ahead of the big changes on the cards for 2017. Pirelli had sent out the invitation to the sport's leading authorities and figures and also disgruntled F1 drivers, who want key changes to the tyre characteristics when the new rules come into effect. F1's official tyre supplier, in turn, is pushing for the drivers' support in ramping up track testing this year, arguing that better tyres will require extensive running on the limit.
