Uncertainty over Formula 1 qualifying format

– Uncertainty remains over the qualifying format Formula 1 will use during the 2016 season, following meetings between team bosses, drivers and the FIA at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this week.Formula 1 chiefs recently confirmed a new qualifying set-up, with the Q1, Q2 and Q3 phases – used since the 2006 season – remaining in place, but the elimination process altered.In Q1, seven drivers are to be knocked out one at a time, and the same number dropping out in Q2, leaving eight for Q3, with six eliminated before two go head-to-head for pole position.However, Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone quickly stated that the new system is unlikely to be used until the Spanish...
