Technical boss leaves Sauber with immediate effect

Sauber's technical director Mark Smith has left the team with immediate effect. The announcement comes just as the 2016 season is about to get underway. Smith, technical director at the team, is the designer of the new C35, a car that only had its track debut a matter of weeks ago at the second Barcelona test. He had only held the position since July 2015. Previous technical director and design roles included positions at Jordan, Red Bull, Force India, Renault, and most recently Caterham.
