Bite-size tech: Ferrari front suspension

There may be nothing new at the front end of the SF16-H but that doesn't mean we can't take another look; after all, Ferrari used pull-rod front suspension for four years and has reverted to push-rod this season. Kinematically there is little difference between the two types of suspension, however, the outgoing pull-rod suspension would require more installation stiffness, which essentially translates as weight, something an F1 team would endeavor to shed. Having said that, pull-rod suspension has some aerodynamic benefits that its relative does not, making it a difficult design decision. The use of push-rod suspension does make setup changes quicker, with components much more accessible....
