Herbert would pick Sainz Jr. over Verstappen
– Ex-Formula 1 driver turned television pundit Johnny Herbert says that he would choose Carlos Sainz Jr. over Max Verstappen, should an opportunity arise at Red Bull in the future.Sainz Jr. and Verstappen are contesting their second Formula 1 seasons as team-mates at Toro Rosso, with Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat racing for the senior Red Bull squad.If a position opens up at Red Bull, Herbert would give Sainz Jr. the nod."Both are very fast, they are the future," Herbert, who made 161 starts with Benetton, Tyrrell, Lotus, Ligier, Sauber, Stewart and Jaguar, explained to Spanish newspaper Marca."I think Carlos is smarter than Verstappen.
