Wehrlein ‘ready' for Mercedes seat

Pascal Wehrlein is adamant he will be ready to step up to a Mercedes race-seat if required in 2017. Although Lewis Hamilton still has years to run on his Mercedes contract, his team-mate Nico Rosberg's deal expires at the end of this season. Following their Spanish GP clash, reports have emerged suggesting that Rosberg could head to Ferrari next season as the two parties have been ‘flirting' with one another. These rumours added some spice to Wehrlein's Mercedes run on Day Two of the Barcelona test.
