Bite-size tech: Mercedes W07 monkey seat
Mercedes employed a new monkey seat at the last race in Barcelona, featuring an additional slot in the upper element. However, to compliment the even steeper rear wing angle of attack that will be used in Monaco, the team has also added a small gurney tab to the winglet's trailing edge. This will help change the point at which the airflow and exhaust plume upwash and intersect with the rear wing, improving the car's balance in transient conditions.
