Massa explains DRS-related practice crash

Williams Martini Racing Felipe Massa says a problem with his DRS triggered his crash during the opening practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix. Massa lost control of his Williams FW38 on the approach to Turn 1 and spun, with the rear of his car suffering substantial damage after he hit the barriers. Massa immediately informed Williams that he felt a failure and the team confirmed that his DRS did not close properly as he braked for the first corner. Williams was able to repair Massa's car prior to the second practice session and the Brazilian set the 13th quickest time. "It was a normal FP2," he commented.
