Hamilton fastest as Vettel splits Mercedes Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton set again fastest lap-time in second practice session for F1 2016 Canadian Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel splitting the Mercedes to take second place for Ferrari. The Brit posted a best lap time of 1:14.212 to finish two-tenths of a second clear at the top of the timesheets, shows solid performance as he target back-to-back victory and also fifth top podium for the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Championship leader Nico Rosberg set third fastest for FP2. Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and team mate Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth and fifth respectively.
