Rosberg praises ‘awesome' Mercedes car
European Grand Prix – Race-winner Nico Rosberg believes he 'felt at one with the car' in a performance which saw him extend his championship lead. Nico Rosberg claimed a lights-to-flag victory on the streets of Baku to extend his championship lead to 24 points over team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Rosberg took full advantage of a poor qualifying session for Hamilton by winning the inaugural race in Azerbaijan by sixteen seconds over Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. Speaking after the race, Rosberg said he was surprised the race went smoothly as the team had predicted safety cars during the race. 'I am so happy to win here in Baku.
