Sainz to stay at Toro Rosso in 2017 F1 Carlos Sainz will stay with Toro Rosso for a third successive season following parent team Red Bull decided to take up an option on his contract and also Daniil Kvyat expected to continue alongside with Spaniard. Sainz is currently 14th in the drivers’ championship on 18 points, also four points behind Toro Rosso and more experienced teammate Daniil Kvyat. His best finish so far in 2016 came at his home race in Spain, where he finished sixth.
