Austrian Grand Prix: Rosberg smashes lap record

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg clocked the fastest-ever lap of the Red Bull Ring during the first free practice session of the Austrian Grand Prix weekend. Championship points leader Rosberg set a best lap time of 1:07.373 out-paced his Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton by three-tenths of a second, with the third-placed Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel another three-tenths adrift. The previous outright lap record of 1:08.337 was set by Michael Schumacher at the wheel of the Ferrari F2003-GA in 2003.
