Gearbox problem ends troublesome Renault showing

Renault Sport Renault drivers Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer both retired from the British Grand Prix due to worsening gearbox problems with the RS.16. Renault endured another troublesome performance at Silverstone as neither Magnussen nor Palmer challenged for the top 10 before retiring. Palmer was also skewered by an issue in the pit lane as neither driver reached the chequered flag. "We tried our best but unfortunately we were just not quick enough today," said Magnussen.
