Mercedes lodges intention to appeal Rosberg penalty

 XPB Images Mercedes has lodged its intention to appeal against Nico Rosberg's time penalty which demoted him to third place in the British Grand Prix. A gearbox problem struck Rosberg in the closing stages of the race, with Mercedes telling him which setting to change to in an attempt to rectify the issue. Rosberg was then told to avoid seventh gear, to which he replied: "What does that mean? I need to shift through it." Rosberg's race engineer then confirmed he should shift through to eighth gear. Following the exchange the race stewards investigated the incident and Rosberg - who had originally finished second - was handed a ten-second time penalty which demoted...
