Pirelli announces Mexico tyre compounds

Pirelli Media Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has nominated the compounds which will be used at the Mexican Grand Prix later this year. The Super Soft, Soft and Medium compounds will be available to drivers, with either the Soft or Medium tyres mandatory for one stint of the race. One set of Super Soft tyres must be set aside for use solely during the final qualifying shootout session at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Under revised Formula 1 regulations for 2016, Pirelli nominates three tyre compounds for each Grand Prix from its expanded range of five, having introduced the purple-banded Ultra Soft tyre.
