Rosberg pens two-year Mercedes extension

Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes has confirmed that Nico Rosberg will remain with the team until at least the end of 2018 after signing a contract extension. Rosberg joined Mercedes at the start of 2010 and has finished as runner-up in the championship to Lewis Hamilton in both 2014 and 2015. Rosberg has taken all of his 19 victories with Mercedes, as well as 25 pole positions and 45 of his 47 podiums. The news was announced on social media with Mercedes posting a video of Rosberg signing a contract before embracing team boss Toto Wolff.
