Bite-size tech: Ferrari SF16-H front wing deflection test

Ferrari conducted tests during free practice to ascertain how much the SF16-H's front wing is flexing whilst on track. Stickers with a checker board pattern were affixed to the front wing endplate, inner canard and the 'r' cascade, this is then monitored by a hi-speed camera which the team mounted on the nose.   Ferrari SF16-H front nose detail Photo by: Giorgio Piola This helps the team to better understand how the wing is flexing currently but also look into the viability of increasing the flex at certain speeds in order to gain a competitive advantage, whilst also investigating options for 2017.
