Whiting wants all drivers to sample halo
– Charlie Whiting, the FIA's Race Director, is keen for all Formula 1 drivers to sample the halo device, prior to increased cockpit protection being introduced in 2018.At the latest meeting of the Strategy Group earlier this week, it was decided that the arrival of any system should be delayed by a year, to fully explore "all options".Ferrari and Red Bull are the only Formula 1 teams to have sampled the halo, in the form of leisurely installation laps, a key factor in why a postponement was preferred.On the situation, Whiting said: "We asked teams to look at the possibilities of running a [halo] car at Spa and Monza, but that was before it was decided to defer it until...
