Button to test Halo in Monza practice

Jenson Button will test the Halo during opening free practice for the Italian Grand Prix, as McLaren trials the cockpit safety device for the first time. Formula 1 teams have all been asked to devote time over the remainder of the season to running the device on track, so the FIA can gather as much feedback as possible from drivers about potential drawbacks. In Belgium last weekend, Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz all tested it and said they were pretty happy that it did not hinder visibility – especially on a track with big elevation change like Spa-Francorchamps. McLaren has now joined the testing programme, with Button set to evaluate it during opening...
