Alonso says fighting Manor "a bit sad" for McLaren

Fernando Alonso says it is "a bit sad" for his McLaren team to be fighting with Manor in this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. The Honda-powered team expected a difficult weekend at Monza given the nature of the circuit, while Manor has benefitted from the power of its Mercedes engine to put on a strong showing. Alonso qualified in 13th position on Saturday, one place ahead of Manor's Pascal Wehrlein, who outqualified the Spaniard's teammate Jenson Button. Alonso, however, expects the situation to be a one-off. "They are quick here. They were also fast at Spa and here too," said Alonso.
