Rosberg cautious on Mercedes form despite Friday pace

Nico Rosberg says the pace shown by Mercedes on Friday in Singapore does not guarantee that the team will remain ahead of Red Bull and Ferrari for the rest of the weekend. The German, who crashed in the first session before topping FP2, insists that only Saturday’s running will confirm if last year’s issues have been addressed. “It’s been OK, the start to the weekend,” said Rosberg. “But we know this is the best track for Red Bull and Ferrari, so we need to be careful and keep doing the best that we can and not get ahead of ourselves. “We learned some lessons from last year, but even last year we were looking OK, and then come Saturday we were nowhere. So let’s wait and see....
