Ricciardo pleased to split Mercedes pair

– Daniel Ricciardo reckons Red Bull can be satisfied after splitting the Mercedes drivers during qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix, and is hopeful its strategic gamble pays off.Ricciardo slotted into second place with his final effort in Q3, demoting Lewis Hamilton into third spot, as Nico Rosberg claimed a comfortable pole position.Ricciardo, along with Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen, will start the race on the Super Soft tyres, after electing to use the compound during Q2, as opposed to the Ultra Softs."I'm pleased enough, the aim was to try and be on the front row," he said."We knew it'd be hard to try and get in front of the Mercedes [drivers], it's nice...
