Ericsson admits to 2017 contract talks with different teams

Sauber F1 Team driver Marcus Ericsson says he is in talks with several teams including Williams Martini Racing and the Renault Sport F1 team for the 2017 season. The Swedish driver brings a substantial amount of financial backing from Swedish sponsorship and looks in demand if his current Sauber seat becomes unavailable. Speaking to Autosport, Ericsson said: 'We're speaking to some different teams, including Sauber, but there's not that many seats left so let's see in the coming weeks. 'Nothing decided yet, but hopefully soon I will know what will happen. Aim number one is to stay in F1 and in the best possible car.'
