McLaren to supply batteries for Formula E

Following today's meeting of the World Motorsport Council, the FIA has announced that McLaren Applied Technologies has been selected as the exclusive supplier of batteries to the Formula E Championship for seasons five and six (2018-2019 and 2019-2020). The FIA had previously launched a tender for the exclusive supply of batteries for the championship, with the aim of implementing technology that will allow drivers to complete a full race without changing cars mid-race from Season 5.
