Hamilton breaks Sepang record to claim pole

Lewis Hamilton has beaten the all-time lap record at the Sepang International Circuit to claim pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix.  The British driver claimed pole position by 0.414 over his team-mate who was under pressure to deliver on his final run. Verstappen out-qualified his Australian team-mate to qualify in the top 3, whilst there was disappointment for Ferrari as they only managed fifth and sixth. Story of the session As the light went green for qualifying, Manor's Pascal Wehrlein was first to take to track, but was swiftly followed by Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
